Multi sub setup (different models)

I have 2 subs:

Snell ICS 24MKII - dual 12" ported
Outlaw LFM-1 - single 10" ported

Right now I am just running the Snell which I purchased because the Outlaw was not cutting it and bottomed out when listening close to reference levels. The Snell has had no such issues and can be downright scary.:D

I am going to be putting in new carpeting in the next week so I will have to get everything out of the room. My intent is to mount the Snell into the front wall so I have more seating room and better performance.

I would like to put the LFM at the back of the room to get even better response but I fell that I will need some kind of highpass filter so the frequencies below say 30Hz or so do not cause it to bottom out.

Would a SMS be the item to look for or is there an easy way to add a highpass filter? My prepro has MultiQ XT which I will use but it does not have the ability for me to customize dual subs this way.

Thanks.

You won't be able to set a HPF on just one sub using the SMS-1, that much I know. You might want to PM WmAx about how to setup a Behringer BFD unit to do this, I know they are capable and can be had for under $100 if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: That being said, properly intergrating two drastically different subs is a difficult task that even some pro's don't recommend.

Cool I'll do that. Do you think what I am trying to do is reasonable or is there a better way?

Chris might be busy working on some speakers :D ... mtrycrafts has one or two of the BFD's I believe. I'm sure you know but just in case, HTS has a forum just for that.

I thought you got rid of the Outlaw. I think you need another Snell. As I'm sure you know they say that using different subs is tough.

I'll take a look at that forum. I did not know about it. The Outlaw is a little beat up on the outside and I don't want to deal with shipping it anywhere so unless I want to give it away I'm stuck with it. I just hate seeing it sitting around doing nothing.

I'll try not to bug Chris too much.;)
