Moving Home Theater Overseas

I am moving to a 220v 50hz neighborhood and all my equipment is 110v 60hz: Denon 3808ci, Denon 3800bdci, Sony Projector VPL HW-10, PS 3, Wii, Paradigm Studio 100's, Servo 15 V2 Sub, Adp 590s and cc 690. I have read several posts stating that running this equipment shouldn't be a problem with the proper step down inverter. I am concerned about the cycle rate (60hz to a 50hz) and was also wondering if my plan to purchase the Anthem P5 is a good idea. I really need some sound advise on how to set this up. This is my first move overseas.

Where are you going, as there are issues apart from voltage and frequency?

Heading to Tbilisi. No issues other than voltage and hz. Have a backup generator to keep the power going. I forgot to mention I also have a Monster Power conditioner.

Do you know if the 220 volt is single or dual phase?

In any event for that much gear you are going to need a hefty transformer.

You are going to a very nice but dangerous part of the world.

I will have to find out. In either case do you have any recommendations?

keep the speakers, and sell the rest.

If the system is two phase and local electrical codes allow it, then you could use one phase and that would give you 110 volts. If you have to use transformer for all that gear, I would forget the idea.

The other issue is that I bet Tblisi is not an NHSTC zone so your video equipment won't be much use except for discs only.

I bet the FM broadcasting has a different time constant also.

Moving AV equipment to a different region is usually a very bad idea.

You are going to a dangerous pretty much third world region.

Historically Tblisi is a great culinary center with fine wines and produce. The region has influenced cooking east and west.

The music is an extraordinary blend of western and eastern scales.

It is an area I would like to explore, but my Russian friends have strongly advised against it without a security detail.

Bascially all I want to tbe able to do is listen to my music and watch movies that I receive from the States. I have no interest in picking up anything from the local market. After some research, it looks like the projector can run off the 220V/50hz, so there won't be a problem there. I have colleagues running Denon AVRs through step down transformers, so I might give it a try with mine. What I don't want is to fry my sub and blu ray player. I will probably hold off from purchasing any serious amp until I get back. Bad news is that the all the equipment is on its way so, it is too late to sell.

It all works fine

Using 5000w step down converter. Works fine. Even worked fine with the 2000w step down converter that I used when I first got here. Thanks for all your input. Pretty simple solution = no issues.
