What is the purpose of the list? I buy DVDs based on liking them as movies, not on what kind of soundtrack(s) they have!
I think David just wants to maximize the use of his 7 speakers and 2 subwoofers.:D

I can't blame him. I would never even buy a BD or HD DVD if the Audio & Video Ratings are not at least 4.5 stars rating.:D

Of course, the story itself has to be great. Having 10 speakers and 7.1 DTS-MA won't improve the story one bit. But at the same time, I want to be able to say, "Ah, this is what High Definition Audio & Video is all about!"

For example, right now there are only 2 high quality (Video & Audio) HD movies I know of that has 7.1 DTS-MA: Pan's Labyrinth & The Condemned. Some people may not even like the movies, but just to be able to test drive that 7.1 DTS-MA is a good enough reason for a lot of people.:D

War BD 7.1 PCM Uncompressed Audio

Hey guys, I just bought the Jet Lie/Jason Statham movie "WAR" on BD. I haven't watched it yet since I'm at work, but on the back it says "7.1 PCM Audio".

Now that's the way ALL movies should be!

Another interesting fact is that it's from LionsGate, which usually puts DTS-MA on their movies. So perhaps enough people have *****ed about DTS-MA's hardware problems and studios are now listening? I hope so.

Let's put all movies in 7.1 PCM and not worry about DECODING anything!:D

That is what I'm talking about... why bother wasting processing power on decoding TrueHD or DTS-HD MA when you can just use PCM... I mean in theory they should all sound exactly the same since they are all lossless.

I can't wait for blockbuster to ship that to me, I've been dying to get my hands on something in 7.1 that wasn't DTS-HD MA.

I hear you. This is the first time I've been able to watch any movie in Actual 7.1 HD sound!

I have never even heard of 7.1 TrueHD. What's up with TrueHD?

I know of three 7.1 DTS-MA: Shoot 'Em Up, Pan's Labyrinth, & The Condemned.

So how was 7.1 PCM audio?

Well, the sound was fantastic, of course. 7.1 PCM Uncompressed sound is awesome. Pure sound.

Unfortunately, the movie itself was not as good. But that's just how it goes a lot of times. Awesome 7.1 PCM, but bad movie.:D

Rob Zombie's, House Of 1000 Corpses is also in 7.1 DTS-HD MA http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=339. Not sure why they did a 7.1 track for such a crappy movie. Speaking of dts and Rob Zombie movies, the sequel to that movie, The Devil's Rejects (blu ray version) has both a DTS-HD track and a regular Dolby Digital 5.1 EX track that sounds much better than the core DTS-HD track, which is very odd to me since the SD DVD version has a very good DTS ES track.

I thought "Devil's Rejects" was pretty good on SD DVD. I will probably never see it on HD, however. Too many movies, so little time, you know?

Yeah, DD EX sounding better than DTS-HD or even plain DTS is odd to me. I guess they can screw up just about anything, though.:D

I have never seen "House of 1000 corpses".
But I just put it in my Netflix queue.:)

I just got it as one of my 5 free blu ray discs... doubt I'll be watching it any time soon though. I just put it in to hear the dts track, and noticed how muted everything sounded during the shootout in the beginning, so I switched it to DD ES and was floored by how crappy the dts was, not at how good the DD EX was, since I would expect both to be pretty good.
