You all may correct me if I'm wrong, but when I read about used materials in speakers I can't find anything that should cost an arm and a leg. The only thing I'm not sure about is those AlNiCo type magnets. The rest is paper cones (usually), but even if it's carbon fiber it is overpriced, copper wire, MDF... The material in itself is few bucks.

My opinion is that the most expensive thing in speakers is know-how. I have no problems with this, naturally, I admire this dimension the most. But you can dump this price with large series. Small manufacturers have more reason to have high prices (fewer units). But often their brand is 'weaker' and they are risking when overpricing.

If the game is 'earn as much as you can' and not 'as much as it's worth' there's no room for anything else but overpricing. Overpricing is the new normal.
