There are a pair of Paradigm Studio 100 v2 in my area for sale $750 with some blemishes in the finnish.
I am looking for a bigger sound stage and more midrange than my current Axiom M50s. I am also looking at an ebay auction for a pair of Axiom M80s.
My set up is:
Beogram TX TT
ADCOM GTP 750 GTA 7400 pre/amp
mainly stereo but also some 5.1 HT
B&W ASW 1000 SUB
I have the Axiom M22 v2s as my back channels and a Bose Center(it was cheap and do not watch many movies, actual center not a cube)

How well will the Paradigms blend with my current set-up?
I think the ADCOM amp should drive them well and I like the sound of that Amp it is just a little weak in the mid range, but lots of power. The Pre is a little iffy though. Rated VERY conservativly at 150 per channel 4 ohm X 5 1500 watt draw from the wall.

Room 65X20.

Thoughts....? Good price?

I sold my mint condition black laminate 100 v2s about 6 months back for $900. I actually didn't expect to get that much, but found a local buyer who was happy to pay it. IMHO $750 is an OK price if the dings are not too bad. Is your room really 65' x 20'? That's pretty darn big. The Adcom is only a 100 WPC into 8 ohms. You can give it a try, but unless you listen at mostly low volumes, I think you're going to want a bigger amp. I tried a number of amps with the 100's & never felt any with less than 200WPC drove them well.

My room really is that big. It is a big room in the basement the entire lenght of the house.
I have my exercise equipment in the middle of that room and I like to listen while I exercise, so a big sweet spot is important.
The equipment is in the end of that room by the TV segrigated by the couch but none the less open.

I talked the lady down to $650. She is a widdow and her husband was an audiofile, now she is getting rid of her late husband's stuff. Apparently it has some dings in the finish. I am soing to look at(and buy?) them today or Firday. As soon as I can find a strong friend to help move these 100 lb monsters.

I am still wondering if my ADCOM 7400 150 per channel into 4 ohm will run these well. I was under the impression that the rating on the ADCOM were very conservative and thus should have no problem. Recall i have a big room with exercise equipment in the middle, so I need higher SPL whiile exercising, especally bass (lower Hz need more power).

I have never even made the amp warm with my Axiom M50s.
