The C2 is a much different car than the C8.....the C8 has finally put Corvette where they should have been all along....IMHO

I have 3 older AV receivers, a 2002 Sony STR-DA7es that retailed for $2500 when new, A 2004 Pioneer Elite VSX-55txi that retailed for $1800 new, and a 2004 Yamaha RX-V2500 that retailed for $1100 new. And of those 3, The Yamaha RX-V2500, the least expensive of the 3 sounds the best.

Now, if you purchased a 2020 AVR, your sound will be AMAZING! For $699.00, Denon AVR S-960H. It will have the latest electronics, processors, etc.,..............loooooooooong story short. I went from a 2015 Denon to a 2020 model and sound from my speakers, was a nice improvement.

What is suspect, I have been into Audio for 50 years, and much older than that now, I know how to set up an AV receiver. All 3 AVR's were connected to the same speakers and source material in the same room. All I am saying is the least expensive AVR of the 3 sounds the best in my system, nothing else. Not everything has to be super complicated, it's not rocket science, just stating my opinion of the 3, that's it.

Your methodology is suspect. Comparisons like this actually are pretty complicated and the method you use matters. A dbt, careful level matching and level playing field is really the only way to achieve accurate results.

I completely agree with you that price is not always an indicator of sound quality tho. Build quality, engineering and accuracy are what counts.

Well, maybe the concept isn't complicated, but setting up the test is. There's a lot to account for to control for biases. It's more complicated than I realized until I read up on a couple of comparisons, like this one.

For sure, but at this stage in my life/audio journey I have little interest. Seeing that I'm in the '4th qtr' of life I'd rather sit back and enjoy the music !

That's totally fair and valid. I think a lot of folks misunderstand when we start talking about dbt's. It's not that anyone is demanding everyone has to do it, but any conclusions drawn without one are subject to doubt because of flaws in the methodology. It's not meant to be insulting or something deficient about the listener. It's just the facts.

exactly and for that I have no problem, so long as folks accept the fact psychoacoustics is real. You know what, if it makes you feel better and keeps your 'toes a tapping', all is good !

I hope it's real, or medical schools & colleges are wasting their time and the students'/parents' money by teaching it, while writers who are well-known in their fields would have to add other material to their books.
