Hobbies are great and I have no issues with everyone having different hobbies.
Just because I am not interested motorcycles doesn't mean I can't respect those who love them. Many thx
Same with vinyl. If you love vinyl, then you love vinyl. Cool.
However, assuming the same original source, from a technical point of few (96 kHz, 24-bit, etc.), I just can't see vinyl being a superior format than CDs.
Thats my point. Juast becuase a format is superior doesn't mean that the recording is good. A poor recording on a superiro medium is still a poor recording and will sound bad. Furthermore, the loudness war has resulted in less dynamic range of CDs and MP3s than what vinyl has now. *shrugs*
Also, you just can't rip/copy vinyls like you can with CDs.
But it's a hobby.
I'm definitely not into vinyls. I've heard some CD songs that actually try to sound like "vinyl" and I definitely cannot understand that!

Thats simualted vinyl. Not real vinyl your listening to. Thats in the recording engineers perception only and no way does it reflect a good recording done on vinyl.
One example I have is the song "Sound of Silence", which was played in Watchmen BD.
I have a CD song of this, and it sounds like "vinyl".
But it doesn't even come close to sounding as good as it did in the blu-ray movie of Watchmen. I guess the sources are completely different.
