I've always been a fan of wireless speakers. My girlfriend tells me that I have to put a stop to this "obsession", but as an audioholic, I know that's not going to happen any time soon. Several months ago, I was looking for newer models and I found out that Monster joined the multi-room speaker market, with the launch of three SoundStage speakers (S1, S2 & S3) All three models support WiFi and Bluetooth streaming, which are some of the most popular features these days and, of course, some of my favorite one as well. Take a look at them!

Being the most affordable speaker of the bunch, the SoundStage S1 runs for $200.

The S2 runs for $300 and the larger S3 is coming in at $400. As with most WiFi and Bluetooth speakers, the Monster SoundStage system uses most smartphones or tablets to select your favorite tunes and stream them around your home. You can either play different songs in different rooms or you can sync all of them to play the same track on every speaker at the same time - a feature I use very often at home.

Also available there is a SoundStage app that allows you control your media, volume and more and comes with the Spotify music streaming service integrated. The on-board speakers use "Qualcomm's AllPlay Technology" which ensures seamless syncing between speakers. All speakers have a 3.5mm stereo aux input and a digital optical input and, of course, a USB socket for charging a phone which is always a very handy feature these days.

So, there you have it. Let me know what you think!

Has anyone figured out to access the "music on my network"? I have tried to figure this out with the help of monster support with about 10 emails going back and forth, with no luck. The tech on the other end was just about as helpful as the videos they supply on their website. I have an S2 and can play music on my phone over wi-fi via the smartphone soundstage app, but when I try to access my music on my network, I get "No Content". I am using the same wi-fi on my mac laptop, mac desktop and Iphone. Can anyone help?

thank you,

I've never quite thought of "audioholic" and "wireless speakers" as being juxtaposed. The latter seems kind of a shortcut to approach the former. But maybe I'm just old fashioned.
