Monitor Audio dealers in WI?

Has anyone seen Monitor Audios at a local dealer in Wisconsin? The MA web site points to a regional manufacturers rep when I do a dealer search. I'd really like to audition the Silver RS6. I'm in Madison but it would be worth the drive to Milwaukee or the Fox Cities.

Monitor Audio has sales reps which they list in their website. This reps in turn setup dealers and sell to them. Call Omega Sales and they will tell you who is the closest dealer to you.

Where in WI are you? Flanners Audio and Video have MA. They are in Brookfield across from the mall. There is also a couple places in Milwaukee one is DaVinci Media and the other one is Ultra Fidelis(dudes wanted to sell me demo RS6 for full MSRP... 1k). When I was looking around for MA I found Flanners to have the best deals..surprisingly. 15% off should be easy there.

I was just over at Flanners a few weeks back, and they have the Platinum line setup there, I think they have the gold as well, but I wasn't really looking at the MA stuff there much... Not even sure they have the silvers at all, but give them a call. The gold series seemed to be more expensive then what they give back... and I certainly wouldn't spend $10K on the Platinums, far better products out there for that kind of money... IMO

I also didn't care for their Audition rooms, just seemed to me a bunch of equipment thrown into rooms with no thought of acoustics whatsoever.

But definitely give them a call, they are the closest to you. They also have a wide range of the Def Tech's there...

AudioEmporium is close to me and they have the entire line of Paradigm and B&W, but its a great place to do auditions, very well thought out building, and the owner Dave is a huge B&W fanboy ;)

Flanners does have the silver and bronze unless they took them off the floor recently. I was out there a month or so ago and they had basically every model in the MA/MAC room.

You think Dave is a B&W fanboy? I bought some stuff from there not too long ago and it seemed like he couldn't say enough negative things about them...keep in mind I am talking about 700/CM/600 series. He seemed like he thought the paradigm products he carried were a much better deal. He was also just TRASHING Nad when compared to Rotel. Nice guy though.

Well Dave is a very nice guy and a customer of mine, and extremely knowledgeable and informative about all of his products. He has the full array of the B&W 800 series... and its very very impressive.

I think his opinion of the Studio's compared to the B&W 700's is spot on, that they are somewhat similar but you get more for your money in the Studio's... And he probably doesn't care for any of the lesser the the 800 series whatsoever. I asked him one time why he didn't carry the Paradigm Signature line which would be a better comparison to the B&W 800 line, and he stated that "When someone is interested in a Ferrari, you don't show them a Corvette" And that the sonic difference between the Studio's and the Signature was very slight. And not worth the extra money.

When I was comparing in my price bracket, the 703's just sounded more empty then the 100's. Recessed mid-range and a less prominent bass signature. I felt strongly that the 100's would better be compared to the 803s but the 803D is a superior product and definitely wins out over the 100's, but your also talking 3 times the money. $ for $ the Studio's are a far better deal. IMO You pay for the beautiful cabinetry that B&W offers along with their inflated price structure.

Madison has a few good audio shops. There are places to check out PSBs, Paradigms and B&W. I think someone even carries Totems. Obviously I'm leaving out some things but those are the brands that have something decent near my budget.

I'm interested in the PSB Image line, the Paradigm Studio line, MA Silvers and possibly Aperion and Axiom systems. Thats just based on reading reviews and specs. I want to put together a 5.1 system with towers for mains and bipole or dipole surrounds. All of these lines also have a respectable sub although I'm still considering an SVS for a sub.

I want to upgrade my receiver and speakers in the worst way. I'm not sure if I can do both this year so I've been hemming and hawing over what to upgrade first. Whatever I decide, it would help to know what speakers I want to inform my choice of receiver.

That's an awesome sub, Warp but I'm not ready to make any decisions now. I promised myself I would finish my living room before buying any new gear and that's going to take a few more weeks.

I hadn't considered that model. It would be close to overkill for my ~1500 ft^3 living room but it's nice to have more power than you need. Home Theater HiFi did a write up with measurements and it is definitely impressive.

Only reason I'm selling is I made a conscious decision to get something a little more size friendly for my bedroom and opted for the F112. Both are definitely solid performers in a small room like ours... scary even....

The F112 doesn't go as deep as the PB12+ but its plenty powerful, and a bit more accurate.. :) If its still around when your still looking, the offer still stands.
