If not I would hold this to just another marketing strategy on AV123 part.

Marketing Strategy? The man is a genius. Just look at this thread. Without a single speaker being tested, measured, or auditioned. He has created marketing for his product. Free Advertising. How many threads like this have been started all over the audio forums?

Exactly, who knows maybe this is his plan all along. What if he backs out on this in the end?

He still got free publicity. Just think of the newbie that just joins the forums. He sees this topic and now is aware of AV123.

You have it exactly right Mazer. I personally am very alergic to this kind of marketing, but it works when well executed and he seems to be very good at executing the strategy.

So by that logic we should be deleting this thread as "spam advertising"?

Yeah, it's a marketing ploy. But at least people get to hear items they might not normally be able to get access to or be able to afford. So it's a "win, win" for all parties.

I agree that the reviews and comments may be skewed. But what review isn't biased to some extent. It's one of the reasons I don't like writing them.

I guess you can count me in as one not seeing how this can turn out well for AV123. These "reviews" will hold almost no value outside that community imho. In fact I can see the "reviewers" taking a lot of heat from both the self proclaimed av123 "old school crew" and naysayers depending on the outcome. I for one, would not volunteer for that position.

As a newcomer to AV123 (just ordered a MFW15), I must say that MLS is one of the most involved ID owners I've ever seen. He is everywhere!

The only lines I've heard from Dynaudio are the Focus and the Contour. I could not believe the Focus line sounded so good given the price! It certainly wouldn't leave you wanting more.

if it were about bookshelves, i'd probably be volunteering (bar the fact i'm a million miles away) but i have heard the RS1 and have no problems getting it back for an A/B, plus I still have a KEF Q1 that i feel has absolutely no difference with the RS1.
