Wondering what experience some of you have with these. Currently my 5.1 setup has ceiling speakers above couch for surrounds, and I’m wanting to use those as height and get either the 2i or 4i speakers for surrounds.

These will be kinda close to Listening positions, right behind couch near wall, so about 2 to 4 feet. Are the 4i’s a bit overkill for how close they will be? They just seem like a big step up from the motion 2i from the ports to the sensitivity, and I don’t want to regret not getting them. I have LX16s as L/R, and Motion 30 for center. Those are about 14feet from MLP if it matters.

The 4i will have more bass capability. The only real difference is the size of the cone, as far as I can tell. If you want more headroom to play loud, get the 4i. If you aren't into loud listening, the 2i should suffice.
