Hi All,

After so many hours of research, I couldn't resolve my question. Hope someone in this forum could shed some light. Here are my specs

AV Rec: Yamaha rxv740
RMS: 90 watts, 6 channel
Impedance Selector: 4 ohms (Main) 6 ohms (Rear & Centre) OR 8 ohms (all speaker)

Speaker Specs:
All 5 speakers:
Impedance: 8 ohms compatible (5.2 ohms min)
Sensitivity SPL/m/2.83v: 88db (except centre speaker), centre speaker 86db
Recommended Power: 10-75 w/ch

I think this speaker set is bit of bad boy. It sounds great when fed from tab 4 ohms (amplifier). But the sales rep's advice was to use the 8ohms tap. Any insight.

Thanks All

Well, you can do whatever you want but...

...by having the impedance switch on hte receiver in the 4 ohm position all you are doing is limiting the power available to the speakers. I guess you just like the sound of the receiver straining.

IMNSHO, I'd keep it in the 8 ohm position.
