I was very nervous about what every one was saying about Mirage's dispersed sound, to say the least I was shockingly surprised. Coming from being a Bose fan and after reading other threads it was a long overdue upgrade.
From what I can see these tiny satelittes are very well made and fit in the palm of your hand, especially if you (like myself) want a good soundstage without having furniture size speakers.
The sound was great. Was it dispersed, yes, but I was still able to pick up where individual sound effects were coming from. I have a large living room, diningroom combo, and it creating a soundfield that engulfed you, especially if you have a 7.1 setup like my self.
Since the drivers are small on these speakers, though do provide some midrange bass, these tiny speakers require a sub which is provided. The mm6 delivers better bass than I thought a eight in cube could provide.I do recommend you invest in any of the larger mirage center channel speakers, I don't know of any satellite that would even be qualified to be considered a center channel speaker. How I have it set up I basically use the mm6 as a mid range sub and have a presitge S10 sub, to deliver the deeper room shaking bass any movie fan would just love.
The down side is the price. At 1200 a pop for the 5.1, it is kinda steep but worth it. The nice thing is that it comes with a 5 year warranty and you can buy a single MX speaker for 150, for those 7.1 fans. If you are a satellite fan like my self I recommend you take this speakers for a spin.
