Just thought I would post a pic of the GTG with the lineup, it was a great time, and we had some great results...
It was cold with a high of 1, but it didn't stop everyone from making the journey.
We all had such a great time, good food, drinks, and great people...

I followed the AVS thread daily. I couldn't wait for the results:eek:. I will admit that I was interested in a couple of those speakers and now I am leaning heavily toward the Sierra's.:)

PS: If it isn't to much work could you attach names to the faces?

Regards and thanks, Billy P:)

Sorry to say Mike, this was not a subwoofer shootout...

We ran all speakers full range to see what they had to offer...
Having the towers there was fun, but this really came down to opinions of the Bookshelves. The show stoppers in this shootout were the Ascend Sierra's and the Dynaudio S1.4's... IMO and most peoples there, the Dyn's took the show with the Sierra's really surprising everyone immensly... but obviously at different price points here... finally being able to hear the Sierra's I was truly astounded.. they were amazing, quite possibly edging out the Studio 20's in the clarity and midrange, but the 20's deffinately had more bass. Unfortunately the SVS's seemed to have trouble keeping up, in just about everyones opinion they seemed to be lacking in the midrange.

In the Towers arena, it came down in order IMO the Studio 100's, then the rockets, and then the SVS's

Let me say this... After the shootout in my basement where I was wowed by the Dynaudio's and the Sierra's, I took the Sierra's up to my bedroom, and they were just amazing crossed over with my sub... I would be darn proud to own a set of them, they are spectacular for the price... Unfortunately I will be sending the SVS's back as for the time I have had them, although they are great speakers, they just don't have the midrange that I am used to with the Studio's.

But I haven't made up my mind yet as to what I will be getting to fill the void in my bedroom, possibly the Sig 6's or maybe a set of the Dynaudio's... they were truly spectacular.. I'm not just looking for SQ here, but the whole picture in the looks department as well.

The Dynaudio's and the Sierra's were both the kind of speakers that gave me goosebumps. If you have had that experience with a set of speakers, you know what I'm talking about... the Studios do that for me.. I'm looking for the next step on my journey.... A step above what I have, which is usually the progression of things...

PM me if your comin this way... It would be great to meet you, I'll buy ya's a drink, and we can run through music of your choice... I still have the SVS's and the Paradigm system.. Bring some tunes..

I will say, that the group dynamic was fantastic, everyone here worked together to attain the final result, and gather their thoughts... communication was fantastic, while everyone had respect to whisper when others were trying to listen.. It was a great time... I will for sure do it again this summer...

Hopefully more speakers will be available for the mix... :)

Hey you can buy me a drink any time.....don't expect me to put out though.....j/k.....

I would love to hear the SVS's. I may be picking up that PB12 plus thats for sale on the forum, so getting a demo of any SVS product would be stellar!

I'll bring my quaint little PSB Image B15's this summer then, add to the "flair".
