Microsoft Shows Star Wars Lightsaber Game, Disney for Kinect
At its Cirque du Soleil Kinect unveiling, two important partnerships were confirmed.

By Sam Kennedy, 06/13/2010

At its utterly bizarre Cirque du Soleil Kinect event tonight, Microsoft showed a whole slew of expected motion control games -- river rafting, fitness, dancing, etc. -- but two partnerships that ought to get people either excited or curious about were Star Wars and Disney. For Star Wars, Microsoft showed a motion controlled lightsaber game (you know, the thing we'd been hoping for from Nintendo on the Wii for like the last three years) -- a guy pretending to wave one around on stage attacked a bunch of Storm Troopers until finally taking on Vader. He was obviously not really controlling the action, nor was the action even real gameplay footage, but the announcement is sure to get some people excited.

As for Disney, Microsoft showed Tinkerbell flying around. Yeah, that was basically it.

Anyway, there you have it -- those were the big "game" announcements out of the Kinect event. I'd probably tell you more, but they didn't serve food there and I'm really ***damn hungry right now.
