Micro sized interior system for boat salon

im Trying to decide on what to do for a salon/living room setup for a boat. the space is 15x19 with 8 ft ceilings. Most ppl used Bose in these for size and space reasons. For higher volume listening I agree with a lot of ppl that bookshelves can blow them out of the water. where I think they really shine is at back ground levels. To me they’re almost magical at low volume. They tend to keep a lot of the dynamics a lot of large speakers loose with really low power.

the lifestyle style stuff is long out of production, not repairable and still quite expensive if you find a nice one. I’m super challenged on space without them hanging down and Blocking windows or being where someone could hit their head. Does anyone make good alternatives for small/ micro type system or should I look into a soundbar in this situation? It will be hooked to a tv also but atmos ect isn’t a priority. I would just like great dynamics and the huge soundstage like the Bose or the old mirage speakers had. Attached is the room I’m working with for reference or ideas.

Bose and huge soundstage? What, old 901s or ? :)

Good speakers of decent size would be my first option, and not the silly Bose stuff. Perhaps check out https://rslspeakers.com/ for good value in small speakers/subs. For electronics for pre-amps/amps etc plenty of choices, might review audiosciencereview.com reviews of various components.

ral is great. if I had space a set of Logan electro-stats would be in there. Their soundstage isn’t great but the dynamics are amazing. unfortunately I need small for this application keg egg, or Bose, mirage, aeon 4 or something basically less than 10 inches tall that won’t stick out a foot into the living area where somebody can hit their head getting up off the couch. I’d like newer or at least not out of production for 15 years. All this type of stuff seems have to have been replaced with the soundbar.

I use the Philharmonic Audio True Mini Monitor for my surround speakers. It's only 11.75" tall but for your application you could probably install them horizontally. They come with a keyhole mounting bracket. Philharmonic is great at producing very neutral speakers.

Speakers that size will not produce a lot of bass. The True Mini is rated down to 70Hz. A compact subwoofer might be good in an application like this. Something like the SVS 3000 Micro which is about 11x11x12".
