I saw Mic Mac by accident tonight. My wife and I went to our local art house and the movie we went to see was not there. We selected another movie at random, a French comedy called Mic Mac. This is really terrific. A strange misfit guy, damaged by a stray bullet himself, son of a father killed by a roadside land mine, takes up life after being "adopted" by a subterranean Parisian scavenger colony full of humorous, eccentric misfits. They decide to plot their revenge on two local arms manufacturers and a bizarre Rube Goldberg plot ensues.

This film is hilariously funny. It's subtitled but the acting is very much like an old silent movie...mainly mimed out, to the extent that you almost don't need to bother with the subtitles. The cast of weird characters would be hard to describe. The humor is mainly physical comedy, done by masters. This film is highly recommended and completely entertaining. The character who is a contortionist alone is worth the price of a ticket.
