Epic, but c'mon man it was the pilot.;) (He kept saying "someone.") To be fair I think it was 60 Minutes that did one several years back. One guy, who I'm not sure was even a aviation expert, theorized the pilot knew where to fly so he was on the radar edges and undetectable. Kind of genius really though sad. I remember the guy had this flight simulator setup at home, and there was some disappointment with the outcome of an election or something. Uh oh.... anyway, this one provides some more technical details, but that guy some years back he was already so close in theory. The original search found nothing and that guy said the pilot might have run out of fuel but somehow glided further south east in the Indian ocean, and area they didn't search. So then the west current blew some of the wreckage to some islands. It's still one of the most mysterious disappearances, maybe next to Amelia Earhardt.

Can't remember the guy but he theorized when he was flying around his home country like in a NW then south direction was pivoting and saying one last goodbye before heading south in the Indian ocean. It was a trip.

Simon Hardy was his name. He did actually have flight experience. He was running the simulator. He theorized the plane was still being handled after it ran out of fuel, but now with the recent research it appears the plane did a figure 8, possibly on the look out for ships so it wouldn't be detected when it dropped into the ocean. In hindsight I guess that makes sense cause the notion the plane gently hit the ocean well there would have been huge chunks still attached. I believe there has been over 30 pieces that have washed up onto islands. Anyway, Simon was pretty darn insightful even if not entirely accurate. That was the funny part. The pilot had the route mapped on his home simulator, so I didn't get the conspiracy if it was right there LOL. Still I thought the plane would have been much further SE than the current search area is suggesting

Now I think it was controlled to the end. Maybe he did a figure 8 on the lookout for detection than did a gentle dive. The flaperons were believed to be down and so according to the video that might have put the plane 50 miles outta the search area. It was believed had it nose dived that would have resulted in millions of plane debris.
