Wow, that was funny(the high level of ignorance displayed by these audiophiles). Thanks. :)

What i liked best was the percentages that one guy gave,50%,30%,60%,40%,add it all up & you get like 4,000% of the music:D

They obviously suffer various maladies: 1. Too much time on their hands. 2. Too much money in their pockets. 3. Lack of understanding the principles and fundamentals of electronics. 4. They don't read Audioholics to negate item 3. 5. These guys would be a bonanza for the Turkey Of The Year Award, hey, maybe they can host?;)

While I'm sure Sanus is happy to know 90% of music is the equipment rack, I'm not so sure musicians would agree.

Well I believe he did go on to say that 50% at least was the electricity and probably 60% was the cables. I don't know if he had time to get to the 230% that was the actual music itself.

Granted, I always wanted to use a cable suspension component rack with glass shelves. That suspension system just looks bad a$$!

But kill me if I ever talk about spending that much money on a system to play vinyl through tube amps.

Some of the quotes made my laugh like this one.:D

"Would you think you’ll be able to listening to music in an earthquake"?

"Yes I think so".

wow, that must have been about audiophiles - it was one of the best recorded audio tracks on YouTube. :p

the ninja-nut and the audiophiles are not that much deferent:
"...because it's an emotional thing." (italics mine)

but, as far as I'm concerned, electricity is 100% of the music. ;)

Bet those guys are on Mapleshades/Stereophile/Esoteric's hit lists. Man, I guess my own addiction is pretty much small potatoes compared to those freaks. My problem is I have to spread my income over other compulsions, like skiing, diving, woodworking, and this family/home thing that keeps getting in my way...

I love it...

...spending around quarter of a million Euros!!! To listen to a cut from Quadrophenia...

To me the best part of it was the guy with the Zerostat, using the thing with a blatant disregard of the mfrs. recommendations i.e. to pull and release the unit's trigger sl-o-o-o-w-ly...This character's methodolgy of fast click, click, click, click can (and again as per mfrs. caveat) produce an unbalanced ratio of negative to positive ions which can actually cause a static charge on the disk as opposed to neutralizing it. I thought every vinyl-phile knew that...speaks volumes to me...

Suspenders for my Marantz

I use 4 of that on each corner on my Marantz to reach the Audiophile level of sophistication. They work like charm! It absorbs unnecessary vibrations from the rack and the Marantz can now swing freely (which you and everybody knows how important that is). Highly recommended!

...the record:

http://www.2spi.com/catalog/photo/useinst.html

When I purchased my unit, then mfg/distributed by DiscWasher, those instructions also mentioned that misuse (as in the video) could set-up a static charge...The piezo element can put out fairly high voltage although at low current...enough to cause a neon lamp to glow or give you a nasty sting if the business end is placed on bare skin while triggering; it can actually create a spark (maybe 1/4") to a ground source...so while it sounds like some more audiophool jargon, there is truth (unlike many other facets of the hobby) at it's core...

jimHJJ(...I understand darkroom techs use it for dust problems...)
