Media Center

We are looking for a media center / server for a shop we are going to open.
Since there are so many models around I was hoping you could advice me which model could suite me more.

The device will be used to play different video and audio clips in our store, what we specifically was looking for is that whenever an audio clip is being played, still images should be displayed on the screen. The still images will be stored in a folder or presentation and should automatically be displayed once an audio clip is running (or something similar).
The device should be able to distribute separate audio streams from the library as well.

While companies really should look at Digital Signage solutions, I would be temped to just run an AppleTV - preferably last generation with internal storage, and throw your photos on there and add some music. You can play music back while it goes through the photos, and the whole setup is high quality video with decent enough audio for a very good price.

is this for a single display solution or multiple displays around the store....

If multiple, do they need to all be the same at the same time, or each be different....?
