Filpped a coin between here in DIY.
I've got a trio of old McIntosh XL10s I wouldn't mind pressing into service. The tweeters seem good, and I think I can repair the passive radiators, but the woofers are a problem. Two are frozen and need to be refoamed as well, and the third seems to have been professionally repaired/reformed, and then damaged by something that tore part of the surround and (worse) the cone.
My DIY skills don't tend to include woodworking, and the costs of having the local speaker place repair three woofers is cost prohibitive. I'm going to start hunting for the woofer used, but I'm curious if anyone knows a good, inexpensive, drop-in replacement.
Thanks in advance.
