Maybe amps really do something

I was always under the impression that I had an outboard amp because I am an Audioholic and not because I needed one. Now that I am without an amp, I can tell there is a lot less dynamics and my music just seems flat. Granted this all makes sense since my room is huge but I didn't really thing I would be able to tell a difference.

There were no animals injured in my testing and it was not double blind. It could very well be all in my head.

Sold it and got a Rotel 1095 that's not here yet.

Anyone want to toss some money in the bucket for me to hold the amp longer to make him squirm...?

BTW I sure hope that amps do something... as I'm spending more then I likely should have on a new amp, but at least I will never have to go down that road ever again....

I have no issue, what so ever, with getting on a plane tonight and going to see you. Heck, I would love to take home a spare set of 100's and a bunch of DIY subs and maybe even an ICE amp or two.

amps sure do some things ...

1) they give you the warm fuzzy feeling inside
2) because you're warm and fuzzy inside, content just sounds much better
3) they fill up a space in your rack that would feel otherwise empty without it
4) it's a fulfillment of a requirement that because you are an audioholic, you damn well "need" it
5) they also fulfill the "just to be safe and sure" so you can crank it (and turn it up to 11 even with earplugs on) or you're the dawg and just plain drunk

They do alot actually, the more power your speakers get the better they perform as you can tell from your listening experiance. The Digms you have can take alot of juice and sound better with more power for sure. I have had a drink or 2 just to even answer the Dawg's thread I am sure the Rotel is going to sound great.
