ahhh jgarcia. That's where you made the mistake...you played the "DVD" side in a CD player. It is clearly maked "DVD" on that side. You should have played the CD side. But maybe Dualdiscs are for DVD players in general as most of us use DVD players to play music now over a CD player??? People who have the issues seem to be playing a Dualdisc in a CD player.
Nope. It wouldn't have mattered which side was in there, the opposite side would have been scratched. I know how to read, and put the correct side down. I know this, because it was the DVD side (top) that got damaged by the pickup mechanism, which has very little clearance, and would not clear the additional thickness of the DD.
How is a dualdisc for a DVD player? Did you not just say in one of your previous posts that the whole point was that it could be used in any CD player, right? Well, if they are intended for DVD players...that makes it a DVD-A again. That was the one drawback of DVD-A, they would not play in CD players, which is why I prefer the SACD format.
The only audio I use my DVD player for are DVD-As and music DVDs. If you want great redbook CD playback, a quality CD player is the way to go.
The F87 is a fine player. I have no complaints about it, except that it's build quality isn't that spectacular, but hey, it was only $120.
