MartinLogan in-walls

After making my wife suffer (not silently, I might add) for years with large, floor standing speakers in the front (B&W 802) and anything but invisible speakers in the rear (B&W 805), I've decided to make a change. While divorce was a brief consideration, changing the speakers seems to be more expedient (and cheaper) path.

I've always like the sound of the MartinLogan models and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with their in-wall units (Passage, Voyage and Ticket). Given the range of prices ($2000, $750 and $300 per speaker), I'm wondering if there's that much of a difference in the sound. Looking at the specs, it appears that the Passage and Voyage a similar designs, with the Passage providing more low-end. Does the TIcket even compare to the other two?

Any thoughts on running some combination of these speakers for the front and rear channels?

Thanks in advance.

Have you considered...

putting a Chia pet on top of your 802's and calling them a plant stand? Get one with feet so it fits over the top of the speaker (I'm assuming they have the rouded top).

Seriously though, I haven't ever installed Martin Logans. I'd like to.

But, I install CAT speakers regularly. All of their drivers are similar; most of their entry to mid level enclosures, whether inwall or floor standing, are made of the same material.

If designed and installed properly, there shouldn't be much of a difference in performance. I'll bet Martin Logan will provide enclosures for your speakers, or provide design info for building them. At least they'll sound better when your wife isn't in the other room complaining
