The comments are pretty funny.

This begs the question - who would expose any skin to the Martian atmosphere, never mind breathing it?

They worried about the same thing when NASA sent astronauts to the Moon, but they had decontamination processes. However, I remember them walking with their suits open and without their helmets and they were quarantined for 21 days.

I'm sure they can find someone who would be willing (stupid) enough.

Dust, heck the trip alone could kill ya or make you sick due to the radiation .But most of us will be long gone when they do try to get there.

Couldn't someone just wear a special crystal?

The link shows that NASA ha a new engine that could travel near the speed of light- how will they decelerate it in a controlled way without destruction?

IIRC moon dust was extremely intrusive, got everywhere, into everything, toxic or no it created all sorts of issues that afaik haven't been particularly resolved.

Interesting concept *if* it works. I’m not holding my breath that we’ve found a way to cheat the rocket equation, but it’d be nice. Lots of people had hopes for the EmDrive too, and that turned into a dud after some promising tests.

Ever see 'Spaceballs'? Rick Moranis' character (Dark Helmet) tells the Sr Officer "Stop the ship!", Sr Officer says "We can't, it's too dangerous- we have to slow down, first". Dark Helmet says "Stop it anyway", so it stops and Dark Helmet is hurled forward and he slides under a console, then comes out loking completely dishevelled.

I was thinking more of the 'Love, Peace and special stuff' ones who are constantly searching for a new vortex to sit near while they bliss out. "Oh, wow!".
