I purchased the new Marantz SR8500 on 12/11. I had heard about this unit from a local Marantz retailer last month and not anticipated seeing it unitl 1st Qtr. 2005 - I guess I got an early christmas present. Marantz still does not have any information posted on their website with respect to the SR 8500.
The unit was realitivley simple to set-up. However, the calibration microphone (MARC) was extremely sensitive and had to manually set up the system. The unit is very simple in its design, configuration and options. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles. It seems to be very robust and deatiled. I have not had a lot of time to demo he unit - but I will post as I go .
Does anyone have any information on the up/down video conversion on this unit? I was reviewing the manual and was not able to find any information on this.
