Marantz SR8001 HDMI Buzz

So I was watching Transformers on HD-DVD (Just the 2nd chapter) and had it "cranked" to -7db, which is usually a bit more than I watch movies at. When I paused the movie to do something, I noticed that there was a large amount of buzzing coming through the speakers.

At first I thought I had some sort of ground loop, so I started unplugging hdmi's and whatnot and making sure there wasn't a lot of power cords by the speaker cables, and I was good there. Then for some reason, I decided to switch from auto/thx to source direct, and wa-lah, the buzz was gone. This makes me think something is going on with one of the surround processors in the receiver.

What do you all think? I know it raises the noise floor, and I especially don't want to just accept it after spending 5g on audio equipment. Should I send off for warranty or is this just a Marantz/hdmi thing? I found someone with a similar problem over at AVS, but he never said if it got resolved.

Any ideas? Good thing I got an extended warranty, although I really don't want to use it.
