Marantz SR7008 turns off if TV connected to HDMI out 1 is not on.

I noticed some weird behavior with my Marantz SR7008 AVR: it goes standby after about 11 min when the TV connected to hdmi monitor 1 out is connected BUT off. If the TV is on, marantz stays on. Essentially, I want to be able to play music on my AVR/speakers w/o having the TV on while connected to HDMI monitor 1 out. I checked the standby/sleep timers on all devices and they’re off. I checked the HDMI Control on all devices and it looks fine, all devices recognize each other they turn each other on/off. When I turn the AVR on using the audio input that is analog, it does not turn on the TV (Which is what I want). But, after about 11 min, the AVR goes off (standby) if TV is not turned on. Anyone else here noticed this issue?

So you are using ARC and HDMI Controls settings are on? Try turning hdmi control/ARC settings to off and see if your problem goes away if so. Can't say I've heard of this particular timing issue before, tho.

Not using ARC. I found a way around the problem; there’s a setting in HDMI Power Off to define whether it applies to “All” or just “Video”. Upon reading about it I realized if you set it to all, then the AVR power is influenced by all devices connected (thru HDMI specifically I think but not sure); if video then AVR power is only influenced by video sources. I set it to video and it fixed the problem. But it’s still weird b/c even if it was set to all it shouldn’t be influenced by analog devices in the first place and/or the TV that is off and a video source anyway so it’d apply in both cases. Also, the analog source was playing every time the AVR went standby after 11 min, so, again, if the source is on, even if THAT analog source influenced the AVR, the source is on and playing so AVR should def not go into standby. Well, in any case, HDMI is the buggiest consumer electronics gizmo ever, but it’s pretty awesome when it works.
