So there is the room. its 18 x 15 foot roughly. I have a kitchen that opens on the right. Couch is about rule of thirds from back wall give or take. The kitchen side down that wall then leads to rest of ranch style house. Hall way and such.
The sensitivity of the center was specified at 91 dB, 2 dB higher than the left and right. Depending on the impedance difference, it is possible for the center to be effectively a few dB more sensitive than the left/right, i.e. the S38. So if the L,R were set to -3 to -4, the center should be around -5 to -9 but not -12, unless the center speaker is much closer to the main mic position.

You should perhaps run Audyssey again,, and this time be sure to follow the instructions to the letter. I would also suggest you lower the subwoofer volume to 10 O'clock. I know owner's manuals quite often would suggest 12 O'clock, but based on the result you are getting, 10-11 O' clock would seem more reasonable.

i used a tripod. Set to ear level at all 8 different postions the marantz walk through. I mad sure that it was ear level each spot. With each move of mic also made sure it was 3 feet from last location accoeding to the insteuction when measuring each spot. Ill draw up my room in a Alerts few and figure out how to post pic.
So how do you upload a photo? Or do I need to host it from somewhere?

Sounds reasonable, I usually use a my listening spot as mic pos 1 then about a 1.5-2 ft circle (radius) around that for the balance using a mic boom. Sometimes you just have to re-run it when results are weird.

I just use the attach files button right below and attach something from my files (may need to resize pics, tho). Tapatalk may be easier if it auto resizes from phone pics...I haven't tried but I'm usually just reposting an image I've downloaded from the net, maybe from my phone.

Very good to the new info again. I will do it again and see what happens. Marantz has in order spots to move mic too so that is what I follow. this will be the third time I have done it and it has always put the center at -12db. It's probably getting a bad reading on center channel.

How do you have the center positioned? On a stand? In a cabinet? Under/over the display or behind an AT screen?

Got everything setup. Did corrections with REW and all I can say is wow I am so glade I calibrate with a calibrated microphone. Using dayton audio umm-6 and REW has allow me to really fine tune the subs. See the room at it's best or worse moments. WIth your guys help and reading about REW and calibration I can say my system has sounded the best period! The bass is so even with 4 subs. They can not be pin pointed. It blends so well with the JBL s26 bookshelfs I have switched to from the s38's

I still have my HD, back in the box after spending hours (less than 40 hours I guess) on using it in various ways and plotted tons of graphs. Thinking of letting it go for bo, no warranty as it was purchased in Aug 2017.
