Representing Marantz’ commitment to providing its customers with superior video solutions for all home theater applications, the VP-11S1 delivers image quality previously unavailable in anything but the highest-priced professional projectors, including full uncompressed HDTV 1920x1080 pixel resolution. The VP-11S1 is now shipping to dealers and will be available to consumers in July for a suggested retail price of $19,999. Marantz plans to introduce a second version of the VP-11S1 in the fourth quarter of 2006 that will feature a long-throw lens.

With Optoma HD 81 and a Gennum scaler coming out this fall for rumored $6k, this won't look so hot.

Single chip dlp's are still prone to people having the same "Rainbow effect", when will 3 dlp's get on board?

Every 1080p projector announced - and released - is one step closer to me being able to get a new projector. I didn't have the cash 3 years ago for a 720p model, but refuse to replace my 540p projector until 1080p with all the required acceptance of formats is standard in projectors and at a halfway reasonable price.

DLP is robbing people... Westinghouse is including 1080p acceptance and performance for just a couple of grand, but the upgrade of a projector to include it suddenly doubles the price. Ummm... I'll hold off judgement, but I am definitely skeptical of the pricing structure right now.
