Marantz AV8801 vs Denon 4311 CI, what are you gaining?

Are you planning on just listening with Direct or Pure Direct 5.1/2.1 or Stereo w/ Audyssey ?

If the former, and since you have ext amps already, why not just get the 3312/3313?

I plan on 5.1/2.1 with Audyssey and or Audyssey bypass L/R. So what I was looking for is the best way to get XT32 and dual sub EQ (second sub down the road). The 4311 CI seems to be the most economical way to get both of these features.

In that case I think the Denon 4311 or 4520 (depending on final price) is the answer

Im not 100% sure, but I think the Onkyo 818 has XT32 and is even cheaper than the 4311ci.

Yes, doesn't have the dual sub management "Sub EQ HT" though.

I have the 4311 and have access to an 8801 at my neighbor...I would get the 4311 and the get the pro audyssey kit for less money than the marantz...I cant recommend anything less than xt32 so I dont agree with the 3312 comments in here...
