lol you guys got me nervous I moved my speakers back like 8 inches(turned up the receiver 5 db more on my pair), so my computer chair won't hit it anymore.

Afterlife2 . . . these are mournful days for me w/ this impending unexpected expenditure on my near horizon . . . but your reply did give me a chuckle . . . & I guess I should learn to be so cautious . . . believe me I will be in the future as I cannot see myself throwing away another $900 (still hurts me just typing it) . . .

Here's a curiosity question . . . can I use this old speaker as a back speaker? Essentially (I guess) giving me a 6.1 system? Or is this not possible . . .

...2 cats and a 112lb Rottweiler :).
Ditto. That is why I leave the grills on my towers and subs. They look better w/ the grills off, and I swear I think the towers sound better. BUT it would only take once for a cat to hook a driver with one of his needle-like claws, and... the result would likely make our local newspaper.

I have my center channel in the middle, when I had the CC-690v4 it was boxy and my cat used to sleep on it. When I got the v5 CC-690 he almost tried to jump on it, but I basically caught him before his back claws could do any damage. My one cat has front claws and knows better than to try and scratch my speaker grills. He does however like to sleep on my subwoofer (the Seismic 12 has a smooth hard top. He won't get off unless I turn the music up :)

I know what you mean 900 ain't chump change, man they should give you one for half the price. Have you called and emailed again? If you want to save some money, you should check out those Whaferdale WH-2 on ebay($100-150) they are well made speakers. I hang mine on the wall.
