You have the unit apart in front of you, we don't. You will have to use your mechanical common sense to sort this out, or have a tech do it.

Welcome to the forum!

Does it seem like the Open Button needs to be pushed in further to get the arm to release?

Thanks for your responce. If this is not the proper use of threads please advise. I have been playing with unit for days to no success. The top arm turntables is magnet dics hold ,seems to tight won't break to allow tray to open.If I apply a little pressure it breaks and tray opens. Old unit this is only problem .

This is a perfectly fine use of a thread!

Which model of Onkyo CD player do you have?

Also, you could contact Onkyo technical support if you haven't already. They might have some good pointers for you. We might be able to get you fixed, but keep Onkyo in mind if we can't.

Can you take pictures of the hardware for us? You'll need five posts to display the images, but you can post two more junk posts if you want.

Still no image. I can quote your message, but the web link doesn't appear to be a valid image link.

What address are you trying to link to? Just post the link and I'll go to it. You can also attach images (up to a total of 1 MB).

Hi. Nothing personal, but I don't give out my e-mail address (which I would do if I e-mailed you).

You can reduce the image size on your computer prior to uploading here, or (even better) you could use one of the online photo storage sites like Photobucket or Flickr and then post a link to the photo here.

That link doesn't go anywhere for me. I think that you need to put more to it.

You can also put the picture directly into your post. In Photobucket, hover the mouse over the picture, and a menu should pop up. In that menu, there is a text box next to the words "IMG Code". Select the text within that box, copy it, and paste it directly into your post.

Hey, no problem. I wish you luck on solving that. If you decide that you want to put the picture up and keep going, I'd be more than happy to try to help out.

Take care.
