I recently purchased a set of Magnepan MMG speakers on eBay and they seem to be missing brightness or treble, my best description is they have a muddy sound. The seller indicated he had them for 6 years.
I have two other speaker sets, Buchardt s400 and Totem Dreamcatcher, both sound great in my system; Schiit Vidar amp, Schiit Saga preamp and SMSL m400 dac.
Not sure if anyone has ideas regarding what I am hearing or not hearing in the treble area. I can’t imagine that it is simply the voice of the speakers, I’ve read so many positive reviews. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
