For my home threatre setup (PS3 + HTPC), should I go for the following:

HSU STF-1 Subwoofer + Onkyo TX-SR506 + Mirage Nanosat (2 front speakers only)

This is a bedroom setup. I also got the M Audio AV40s, its either one or the other

Please help me with deciding
thanks

its for my bedroom

HDTV is a Panasonic LX700 32" 120Hz
and will be used for gaming movies and music

On a side note, the M Audio AV40s really impressed me with their clarity on music (just picked these up)

I don't think that people are ignoring you. If they are like me, they just don't have an opinion on which would be better for you.

You say that you already have the AV40s and like them? If so, what is making you consider a different set-up? Just curious.

I have:

HSU STF-1 Subwoofer + Onkyo TX-SR506 + M Audio AV40s at the moment

I can return the AV40s and buy non-PC speakers (so I can connect them to my receiver) - but I want them to sound just as good

I am thinking of buying the Mirage Nanosats (just 2 speakers)

how are those?

Ahhhh. I didn't get that from the earlier post. I thought that you had the AV40s and were thinking about returning them and getting the other system.

Now that we know that you're just asking about the Mirage Nanosats, someone might chime in that knows about those. I've never heard them, sorry. Do you have the ability to audition them in your home (i.e. buy them from somewhere that will let you take them back)?

The Mirage are a very different animal. They throw a large soundstage and are dependent on having walls closely to reflect the sound. While a lot of people are taken by the spacious sound, they aren’t listening for focus. It’s harder to locate with accuracy the location of a sound played through the Mirage speakers. You should give them (or any other speaker you’re considering) a good listen in your space before buying.

You might also have better luck with speaker advice posting in the speaker section.
