$300 for the 110v. Is the 220v similarly priced and what voltage do you need? The color can't be voltage specific, can it? HK makes one that shows up on their eBay refurb site periodically. I picked up an old Sony 4 disc CD changer at a yard sale for $10 and let my friend use it in his garage. :D The only reason I don't use it is because of space constraints. Being a condo dweller, redundancy is not one of my friends when it comes to equipment.

So when are you gonna place the order? :D:D

Loks alot like the previous Yamaha models. One of which I own. Very reliable but some very annoying qwerks.
I'm not sure I'd but another Yammy player.

i don't know if I'm gonna order it :D the 110v version is only available in black I think. the 220v version is available in both - but I always get silver.

i think the price is the same - around 300 bucks.

what annoying quirks?

-It drops the first split second of the first track of every disc. Not a problem for music that fades in, but for a lot of the modern stuff it is in the least an annoyance.

-Doesn't remember the point where a movie was stopped.

-Slow. This was an issue, but now compared to my Toshiba HD DVD player, the Yamaha looks like lightning.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not looking to replace it. Chances are it will be the last SD player I own. The shuffle play is a great feature. Possibly the only reason I didn't give up on it and go back to a single disc player.

If a multi disc player is a necessity the Yamaha may be the beat option Mike.
I'm just giving an honest opinion.

One of us was thinkin' and the other was typin'. Or the other way around.:D

My player is a DV-C6770. 5 disc player, DVD-A, SACD, the whole bit.
Maybe I'm nitpicking. I've owned it for close to a year.

i think the changer in the OP is plain jane CD (no DVDA or SACD)

I made the asumption that it was a DVD changer, but 300 bucks for a cd player?? Ouch.

For that same $300 you can buy a Squeezebox and change thousands of CD's by ripping them to a hard drive.

im curious about the squeezebox. doesn't it send and receive data via wifi?

isn't there sound degradation? if not, how can it keep up with the music via wifi bandwidth?

Yes, or wired ethernet as you prefer.

No, it has a perfectly competent DAC. Bandwidth isn't an issue with stereo bitstreams and ethernet. This is audio, not video. Every single digital bit will get to the Squeezbox without a problem.
