When I switched from satellite to cable TV, I noticed the picture quality was not as good. Now, I also discovered when I turn my receiver to an input that is not being used with the volume up a little, I can hear a low frequency humming noise coming out the speakers. I think I have it narrowed down. When I disconnect the cable input line going to the power divider the noise stops. Looks like it's the cable line coming into the house is at fault. I'm sure this is causing the poor picture quality also.
Is there anything I can do myself before I call the cable guy? There are some connections before it gets to the TV. There is a splitter to run to the router for high speed, maybe that has something to do with it.
