Loudspeaker Choice

I am in the process of purchasing some front Floor standing speakers. Those would be the Energy C-300's or the C-500's. Any opinions on which ones will be the best choice?

That's a tough question, because "best" means different things depending on what your after (best sound, best value, etc.). AH did a nice article on that here (albeit quite sarcastic at times, so read it in good humor).

Would you be pairing them with a subwoofer? The C-500s can go about 5Hz lower (35Hz versus 40Hz).

Listen to these speakers using music you know intimately and let your ears decide. We all hear differently from one another. Thats why recommending speakers is such a subjective exercise.
