Looking to upgrade to Paradigm Studio 60s - worth it?

I have a pair of Polk RTi8s for my main towers. I'm satisfied with them but now I have a bit bigger budget and want to purchase a good pair of speakers that look a lot like the slim and tall RTi8s but with better construction and obviously - sound.

Unfortunately, I've never heard the Studio 60s. And I don't believe there's anywhere near my place where I can go listen (funny, since these are made in Canada). My question is, will the jump be worth it?

I've never heard RTi8s... but from glancing over some reviews they seem to be rather impressive speakers for the price. However a lot of people say similar things about the Studio 60s.

Coincidentally I just listened to the Studio 60s today... and I didn't like them. They sounded bright and uncontrolled to me. Immediately afterwards I went to listen to B&W 603s and I was once again amazed. If you have a B&W dealer near you I suggest that you give them a listen.

This just shows why you have to listen for yourself. I love my 60's and auditioned the 603's and found them bright on top and flat in the middle. Go figure.....;)

A pair of well broken-in Studio 60v.3 are a very very good speaker for under $2K. My personal preference is Studio 60's over Polk's (and similary priced B&W'S) but everyone is different. To that affect, every room is different too. When you get down to serious business regarding purchasing, ask to demo the speakers in your home for a couple days. What sounds good in the store may not sound as good at your place and vice versa. Good luck!

Heard them both. I'd say it would be an upgrade, though I'm not sure the 5960 is really enough to push the 8s or the 60s to their full potential. I've never found B&Ws bright, but they are flat in the midrange (600s are brighter than the 700s IMO). The Studios have a "dished" sound to me, where the highs and lows are more pronounced, with the mids a little reserved. I like them, but I did not buy them after a 1 1/2 week audition (v3 40s).
