looking for tubes

Hi everyone, Just fisheed a Luxman MQ68C out of my basement to use in my bedroom as a stereo background amp and found #2 of the output tubes were cracked. Does anyone know of a souirce for 50C-A10 tubes..I probably would replaced all 4 at this point. Thanks for any help someone might give me

Looking for replacement tubes remindes me of my youth. The family had a Admiral Console TV (were they not all Consoles back in the 50's & early 60's?)

To avoid a house service call by the local TV repairman (Mr Bennett of Bennett's TV's) (where did they all go ?), My father & I would number & pull the tubes from the TV (except the main CRT) and take them to the local TV repair shop for testing and replacement.

In the mid 60's I remember that the local 7-11 store had a test stand with replacement tubes. (heck they even had tune-up parts for VW bugs.)

Ahhh, The warm glow and sound of Tube amplifiers. Sweet.

It does bring back memories for me also.
My dad had many cases of tubes up in the attic. (don't remember why?)
He bought a tube tester from Radio Shack. It looked like a small suitcase.

So, whenever the TV picture got a little wavy, I'd pull out the tubes one by one, and test them.
Then, I'd go up into the freezing cold attic with a flashlight and look through countless cases, until I found the right tube.

I have two friends, brothers actually, that were my intro into audiophilia. They have some nice gear, with vintage speakers- JBL Hartsfields circa 1950's, and an Altec Voice of the Theatre setup. Anyway, one of them showed up and announced he had pulled the trigger on a pair of NOS Western Electric 300B's........for over $1200 EACH. I kid you not. The two of them were in raptures as to the "sound" and how much better these tubes were than the Russian ones he'd been using. Here is a recent auction on Ebay of the same pair of tubes...... That's gonna be a hard tube to find as I don't believe it has a substitute.
