Hi guys, first timer here. I'm looking for some input on speakers. Currently I have a 10-year old 5.1 speaker system (HTIB) that I want to upgrade. I've been reading all oer the net and have decided on the Paradigm cc-190, Atom monitors and either ADP-190's or another set of Atom monitors for the rears.
My room is 17'x12' with 8' high ceilings. The tv is hanging along the 17' wall. One of the 12' "walls" is actually windows and the other is an arched opening into the dining room.
I just want some input on whether the speakers I chose will be a good fit for my room? I would love to have some floorstanding speakers but I don't think the wife would approve of those at the moment. My budget......I'm looking to spend about $1,000 for the whole system but I am willing to spend that on just the fronts and center speakers. And buy the others in a few months. I don't like carrying a credit card balance, so if I can't pay for it at the end of the month then I save up for it until I can.
Another question for Chicagoland people, Are there any Paradigm dealers that have good deals? I only see the one in Chicago on Clark Street using my zip, I'm in Brookfield. Just curious if there were any in the western burbs, I kind of hate driving into the city.
