Looking for a sub < $250

Hey everyone, i'm looking for a little help deciding on a subwoofer for under $250.

This is going to be used with KEF iQ3 bookshelf speakers, primarily for music. My room is very small, about 10x10. My receiver does not have LFE or RCA out (it has a sub out with speaker wire that was meant for a passive sub), so the subwoofer would need high level/speaker inputs. I'm trying to find the most musical sub i can get for $250 maximum. I think I've narrowed it down to a few, but if i've missed any decent ones please let me know!

-Acculine A-Sub (239$)
-Mirage Omni S8 ($250)
-Bic Accoustec H-100 (230$)
-HSU stf-1 ($254)
-X-sub (can't find this for sale anywhere!)

Thanks a lot everybody :)

Add the Dayton SUB-120 12" to your list as well.

AV123 discontinued the x-sub, as you know. I bet some obscure technology, home theater, audiohpile forum has a member with one for sale wondering why he's not getting any bites.

The Dayton SUB-120 is definitely some awsome bang for buck. Some say it's the best buy for under $300. I have the Dayton SUB-100 (the 10") because I live in a small apartment with neighbors and the 10" does the job.

Watch your local craigs list. You include a HSU stf1 at $250. I had to look for a while, but found a stf2 at < $200 on my local craigs list.

Which would be better for my purposes, the acculine a-sub or the velodyne vrp-1200?

The HSU STF-1 can be had for around $250 right now. That'd be my pick in a 10x10 room.

what about the velodyne vx-10?

The Velodyne runs about $180 shipped. Freq response is 36hz to 120.

How would that compare to the STF-1? The Velodyne has a 10" woofer versus 8" of the HSU.

Anyone compared these 2 against each other?

Thanks!

If you are handy they have some kits at the Parts-Express store. One that is for a 15 inch sub for around 250. I imagine that would be pretty decent too. If you have to tools to build your own box you could do that and then get a titanic driver from parts-express for less than 250.

I already mentioned the inexpensive 15" kit and it is $320, not $250. It was on sale for a wihle there for $269.
