Just bought a Yammy 663 and sony xbr4 hdtv, looking for some quality 5.1 setups priced around the $1000 mark.

Visited the AVS forum to research a bit and all I really found was the SBS-01 System from SVSound. I can't post links because of my low post count but it's hppp://xxx.svsound.com/products-sys-sbs_black.cfm with http and www instead (SBS-01 System $999)

There any better bangs for the buck?

For your price range..the svs is a good set up. Here are the other choices that is within your budget:

eD, BIC Acoustech, HSU.

Home theater direct makes some very nice gear too. I have had BIC as well for the money the BIC's ( with a little extra polyfill) are really good. Also fluance makes some good speakers for the money. (love to see audioholics review some fluance speakers hint hint)

I have had the SBS-01 system since it first came out and I absolutely love it. I have them paired with a Denon 2807 and everything sounds fantastic. I would love to upgrade to the newer SVS package but they are a big step up in price.
