I am considering getting a new receiver and can swing around 8-900 Canadian. I can get the
denon 1905 for $700
denon 2105 for $900
NAD T743 for $750
Yamaha RXV750 for $800

I currently have Paradigm Monitor 7's with the cc370 and paradigm titans as rears. I was wondering if i should get one of these receivers, or wait probably 8 months (need to save up) and get a yamaha 1500, denon 2805, or NAD T753? I currently have a kenwood VR705 which has 5X100, DTS receiver. I listen to about 50/50 HT, music mix. I only said these brands cause they seem to match the best with paradigm. Thanks for any input you have

Any of them would go well with the Paradigms. I myself am a big fan of NAD. I think you'd be very pleased with that combo. NAD gives the most robust and honest amps in the lower price ranges.

I have the 1905 and love it. Good amount of inputs and outputs and sounds great with both home thearter and music.

If you are considering the RX-V750; consider the RX-V1400/1500 or HTR-5790. Both have THX certification. Assuming that's an important factor.

RXV-750 lasted three days

I bought a RXV750 and had Bose 301s as front and Advent MARBLs as surround and I had a JBL 250 sub hooked to the sub pre-out. I did the auto setup where the microphone detects all the speakers or lack (I don't have a center or surround back) and I used it for three days. I was watching Iron Maiden dvd Rock In Rio and driving real hard (between -20db and -10db) and the receiver suddenly smelled of burnt electronics and quit functioning. Now if I push the power button I get lights for two seconds and then it goes black again. I tested all the speakers with an older receiver afterwards and everything is normal.

Run out the door and see if you can find a Yamaha RX-V2400.

They were selling for 695, (ie half price), over the past couple of weeks and are a real steal.

The reason they are on sale is that the Yamaha RX-V2500's will be out soon, so they are dumping stock.

If your planning on listening to music as well the NAD unit would be a better choice IMHO.

You could probably find yourself a great deal on a Marantz receiver. Alot of places are giving big discounts on *400 series. I picked up a SR5400 for 449.00. A good friend of mine picked up the SR4400 for 299.00. I can imagine you will find some great deals on SR7400 and 8400. Marantz is also great with with music as well.

I saw a newspaper add for one electonics store selling the 2400 for $597, brand new full authorized warranty to boot
