Thanks for the advice guys.

I probably should have been more clear in my first post. I plan on deciding on the entire 7.1 setup before purchasing anything. Money is only permitting me to buy 1 or 2 pieces of this setup currently, but I do plan on figuring out the entire package, and than buy it a few pieces at a time.

I am choosing to buy the Center Channel first, of whatever package I decide, because my L/R's currently are very capable but still old JBL's, while my center/surrounds are horrendous off-brand mini speakers. I also should note that I have a Powered Yamaha Sub (YST-SW216), so of this new package I decide on, a new Sub would probably be the last piece.

I will most likely purchase in this order.
1. Center
2. L/R
3. Surrounds
4. Subwoofer

I am leaning towards going with the NHT Three C for my Center, although I might opt for the Absolute Center (http://www.nhthifi.com/Center-Channel-Speakers).

How well would the Absolute Towers blend with the Three C center do you think? (http://www.nhthifi.com/Tower-Speakers)

Again thanks for the incite guys.

It doesn't matter what order that you buy the speakers but always choose the mains first because they are the anchor. Choose the mains and then buy your center based on the mains (timbre match) even if you buy the center first. But keep in mind that you're locking yourself in.

+1 on what Sholling says. Also, like I suggested earlier, I would definately save up for a package as it gives you more bargaining power and will ultimately save you more money in the long term. It sounds like your eager to upgrade and I can't blame you. But wouldn't you want to save money in the long run by purchasing a more complete package then piece meal liek you are doing?
