My system is in constant flux it seems, I'll get it updated soon (painted front wall and removed the height speakers.) I recently ordered and have been evaluating some Monitor Audio Silver 100 7g. They are such a good looking speaker that are built extremely well for this price point. I just can't get passed the elevated treble and thin mid range(one maybe a result of the other?) during my experience with them. I wouldn't describe them as shrill, but definitely hotter than the KEF or Dynaudio Emit 30 I have on hand.
Comparing them to the KEF Q7 Meta song to song, it's very apparent the KEF have a more even response with male and female vocals. Mid range is more full and organic. Some may find the KEF's a little too soft and lacking some sparkle, but I will take a gradual roll off of the top any day.
The Silvers image very well and the boosted treble makes poorly captured movie dialogue easier to follow. I just wish the KEF's looked as nice (isn't that what the R series is for), but they make up for it with there superior performance.
