Little Car audio Amp

I was hoping to replace a 50w amp that recently died. I used to have a small amp for the front 4 speakers, but it died of old age. I have looked in a dozen stores looking for a 2 channel, wire input, 50w amp, but haven't had any success. Anyone know somewhere in NSW I could possibly find one?

Where is NSW? Is that New South Wales?

Anyway.

High level inputs (speaker wires) on car amps are not gone completely. I think I saw them on many of the Clarions. They are probably still found on less expensive amps. 50 watts X 2 channel may be tougher because kids want more power. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you can only find 75 or 100 it shouldn't be a big deal. Most have a gain control, just turn it down. If you can't find a suitable amp with high level inputs you can get speaker to RCA adapters (high level to line level).

Ask the sales guys. That's what they are there for.

I would say buy a small amp and a separate hi level to low level adapter.

Get a good adapter though...if it looks cheap, pass on it. I've seen the really poorly made ones literally burn if they are ran hard.

Blaupunkt has been known to make some fairly small amps.

Soundstream used to make soem nice 20x4 amps...but those guys are pricey.
