Listening Volume???

I have a pair of PSB Image T65 speakers, a Denon 2808CI receiver and a Marantz CD-5003 cd player. I typically listen to music at around -9.0DB. I find that the louder I play it, the better it sounds! I'm weary of causing some damage, though. Everything sounds crisp and clear, there's no distortion,.......Is there any way of knowing before any sort of distortion is heard?

Thanks

You wont really know what the limits are until you find them. So in a nutshell. No.

I asked a similar question some time ago. Your receiver probably has enough clean RMS watts that you wont have to worry too much. The only thing that will blow your speakers is overpowering them or clipping the amp. Usually this wont happen until extremely loud volumes, in my expeirience 65%+. Dont be afraid to test the limits. Just watch out for over-excursion (especially with heavy bass). Also, it usually takes a little time to heat up the speaker enough to blow it. Youll hear the limits of your system.

Are you worried about damaging your equipment or your hearing?

The others above have covered your equipment. As for your hearing, there are a number of websites that discuss noise-induced hearing loss such as this one here.
