Line Source Speakers

AV123 is in the process of building two new Line Source Speakers (LS-9, LS-6). With the little research I've done, Line Source sounds like an interesting option for someone like me with a very large room. Have any of you had an experience with Line Source Speakers like the Epiphany's?

I used the 12-12s in the picture below. They are being upgraded to 20-21s for the larger room they will be used in. I love them, however, they are very sensitive to listening position. I like dynamic speakers when i'm walking around a room listening to music. I prefer line source when I'm seated in the optimal listening position. The Epiphany's have incredible soundstage and handle highs like no other speaker I've heard. I use them with corner load subs and room correction, so I cut them off at 250Hz, essentially using them as huge bookshelf speakers. The combo is my ideal setup.

Those Epiphany's are beautiful. So you are saying that the 20-21's will be seven and a half foot bookshelves? :p.

It looks like they are in a music only system (unless you have a drop down screen). I would be using the LS's in a combo music and HT setup. I had heard that Line Source can throw a larger sound stage and are not as LP dependant as many point source speakers. Are those DD-15's that are providing all the <250Hz info?

"Line Source" or "Line Array" are terms to describe a hybrid speaker system, which works with sound-wave cancellations for the low freq, and very narrow dispersion ( vertical ) for the high freq, the exit of the high freq module ( disspersion device ) has to project planar sound waves,
So, You have extreme control in the vertical disspersion, in almost all freq. with power, and crystal clear sound.
I´ve worked with those systems in very big shows (stadiums, arenas ) and let me tell You that this is the most amazing sound system there are for big rooms, where You need long-throw, with no extra energy in the ceiling.
Check this tho links from 2 of the most important Line Array Manufacturers in the world. ( Pro Audio )

I can't even keep up any more. I feel sorry for someone new to following that company trying to figure it all out.

FYI, Line Array

The new LS line from AV123.com is designed by Danny Richy, the same guy who designed those Epiphiny's. Supposidly, the new XBL dirvers they are using will perfrom better than his previous design.

AV123.com and their associates will build the enclosures, assemble, and distribute the speakers.

Also note, the $10k RBH T-2 system is a "truncated" line array speaker and is highly regaurded by AH.

From what I have picked up on the av123 forum, the line arrays are a great 2 channel dream system for large rooms.
