I just bought LG 55" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV** (55LD520) and the LG Blu-ray Disc Player (BD590C). WhenI hooked everything up at first it worked. Then I tried to switch it to 1080p mode. As soon as I did that I got "No Signal" screensaver on the TV. I called LG and explained the issue. The CSR said it could either be a problem with the TV or the BDP. She suggested I return the BDP and if I still have the problem I will need a TV technician to come to my home.
Back I went to BB and returned the BDP. I brought the new unit home and it had the same problem. I hooked up the composite cables and switched it back. I then swapped the HDMI cable. No change. I started messing with the TV settings. I found I could see the BR video in 1080p only if I changed the TV to RGB and 20Hz. This is not the default for the TV. The default out of the box is 60Hz and YC something something ....
So it;s working after much messing about but does this indicate a problem with the TV? I also noticed the Simplink stuff is not working. Could these issues be cabel related. The cable says HDMI High Speed 1.3b but no mention of CEC.
